The EDI application is optional.
It runs unattended and interfaces with an EDI gateway to create new work items from file transfers. In the case of A/P, this is electronic invoicing.
After the application creates a new work item, it logs an event and sends it to the Validation application.
Because this application is automated, it lowers overhead, decreases errors, increases speed, and improves accuracy.
